1,000 days, two scorecards, zero audit
The BRS has released a chargesheet against the Congress government, while the government offers its own report card. The promises remain stuck between both documents.
After 1,000 days, the competing scorecards are ready; the audit is not.
The Congress government completed 1,000 days in office on September 1. A day later, the BRS released a chargesheet at Telangana Bhavan, with K. T. Rama Rao, T. Harish Rao and other senior leaders present. The party announced protests, meetings and distribution of “Baaki Cards” across Telangana until September 8. (Source: Telangana Today)
KTR called the period “1,000 days of torment” and alleged that the government had failed to deliver its six guarantees, two lakh jobs in the first year, the ₹4,000 unemployment allowance and several farmer and student-support commitments. He also alleged ₹4.5 lakh crore in accumulated debt and criticised the handling of Rythu Bharosa, urea supplies, fee reimbursement, pensions and water. The government’s account is considerably brighter: the CMO says more than 25 lakh farmer families benefited from the loan waiver, over ₹36,000 crore was invested through Rythu Bharosa, and nearly 70,000 government jobs were filled. Congress MLA Vemula Veeresham said the government was correcting problems inherited from the BRS. The complete BRS chargesheet and an itemised Congress response are still not public. Telangana has two report cards; neither has brought the audit.
