22-A land mess gets two opposition protests
The BJP will protest on September 5 and 6, while the BRS seeks a judicial probe. The government admits errors and says it is fixing them—eventually, and individually.

The Telangana BJP will hold protests at Indira Park on September 5 and 6 over alleged wrongful inclusion of private properties in the Section 22-A prohibited-properties list. Party MPs, MLAs, MLCs and affected property owners are expected to participate, according to a report on the announcement.
BJP Legislature Party leader A. Maheshwar Reddy demanded a white paper and alleged a “lakhs of crores” scam by the Congress government. The material reviewed does not establish that figure or the separate allegations he made about land transfers. BJP state president N. Ramachander Rao also cited large-scale impact in the city’s outskirts, but no official assessment supports his estimate.
The BRS is seeking a judicial inquiry by a sitting judge, publication of the list and a white paper. Its demands follow the government’s own acknowledgement of technical and administrative errors. Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy says 23,136 acres have been removed, 960 complaints were received and 38% resolved; the underlying records were not published in the material reviewed. The Bhu Bharati portal has a grievance process, requiring survey details and supporting documents. The Congress government has supplied a complaints route. Telangana still needs the list, the orders and the numbers behind it.
