22A list: remove it or we stall
Harish Rao says the BRS will block the Assembly and “lay siege to the Secretariat” unless genuine private properties are taken off the 22A prohibited list. The Congress government admits errors, blames officials, and promises a committee. Telangana needs fixes, not another apology tour.

BRS deputy floor leader T. Harish Rao warned that his party will raise the 22A land-list dispute in the coming Assembly session and stall proceedings if bona fide private properties are not deleted, adding: “If necessary, we will lay siege to the Secretariat. The BRS is ready for any form of struggle.” The meeting backed residents of Tirumala Meadows, Lakshmi Ganapathi and Hemanagar colonies in Boduppal.
His attack named Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy and Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy. Several allegations he aired — including claims about commissions and real-estate interests — are political charges and remain unproven; he has pressed for a white paper and accountability.
On record, the Congress government’s own line concedes the mess. The Revenue Minister has apologised for hardships, calling it “definitely a mistake by our officials,” and said old prohibited-land lists were reused. He has announced a high-level committee, a grievance route and even a toll-free line, and told officials to upload orders and approvals. A report of an official briefing said about 400 calls had reached the 22A cell by August 20.
For owners stuck on the list, the Bhu Bharati portal carries a grievance module to seek removal of wrongly included survey numbers, and even acknowledges that partial acquisitions sometimes got recorded as full — with corrections routed via the Collector. That fixes the process note; it does not fix a blocked home loan or a frozen sale.
What Telangana still does not have from the Congress government is the basic ledger: district-wise counts of entries, additions, deletions and reasons; who ordered the latest uploads and when; and a deadline to clear genuine private titles. Until that arrives, the Assembly floor will be the forum — and the Congress will be answering from it.
