Telangana’s monsoon Assembly session is scheduled to begin on September 7, with the BRS and BJP preparing separate campaigns against the Congress government. The date has been reported by multiple publications; the Assembly’s eVidhan portal shows September 7 on its calendar, although it also currently says “House Not In Session”. The formal circular was not available for inspection.
The BRS has released a reported 23-page charge sheet alleging failures on farm-loan waivers, jobs, fee reimbursement, farmer welfare and other promises. It plans protests and petitions through September 8. The BJP is separately mobilising over Section 22-A land restrictions and fee reimbursement; its leaders were detained during a September 3 march to the Secretariat, according to reports.
The parties have put different figures on fee-reimbursement dues, ranging from Rs 11,000 crore to more than Rs 12,000 crore in the material reviewed. No official department figure was located. The Assembly, therefore, has a simple first task: replace campaign arithmetic with government records. September 7 will show whether the Congress has answers, or merely another calendar date.
