BJP needs three leaders for Telangana
The party has retained Sunil Bansal as Telangana in-charge and added Karnataka MLA Abhay Patil and Rajya Sabha member Rekha Sharma as co-in-charges. The exact division of labour remains unpublished.

The BJP has formalised a three-member command for Telangana, retaining Sunil Bansal as in-charge and appointing Karnataka MLA Abhay Patil and BJP Rajya Sabha member Rekha Sharma as co-in-charges. The party’s appointment list was announced on September 23, according to reports reproducing the BJP communication. [1][2]
Bansal will also handle West Bengal. Patil, a BJP MLA from Belagavi South, was previously assigned Telangana election work, while Sharma is a former chairperson of the National Commission for Women and a Rajya Sabha member from Haryana. [3][4][5]
Party-source reporting describes the arrangement as covering the next three years and preparations for local-body elections and the next Assembly polls. The appointment list itself does not specify a three-year mandate, a 2028 election target or individual responsibilities for the three leaders.
