Revanth Reddy relinquish the Education portfolio and that the government clear pending fee-reimbursement dues within a week. Rao made the demand in a media interaction a day after a Congress candlelight rally, according to a report. He also posted on X criticising what he called silence over the fee-reimbursement situation and referred to students facing withheld certificates.
The Telangana government has previously acknowledged that fee-reimbursement arrears had accumulated and said then minister D. Sridhar Babu was tasked with addressing old dues. In July 2024, Revanth Reddy said the government would ensure timely payments from that academic year. In 2026, the government issued revised guidelines under a direct-benefit-transfer schedule for future reimbursements, with specified release dates tied to registration windows.
