BRS asks ED for answers; the file stays invisible

BRS leaders protested outside the Enforcement Directorate office in Basheerbagh on September 28 and submitted a representation seeking the status of searches conducted in September 2024 at premises linked to Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy and others.

Police initially stopped the delegation, before allowing it to meet ED Deputy Director Swathi. The BRS asked what was seized, whether notices or summonses were issued, whether a prosecution complaint was filed and what happened to any seized property. It reportedly sought a response within 15 days. The paperwork, at least, has reached the office.

Contemporaneous reports said the 2024 searches covered about 16 locations, including premises linked to Raghava Constructions and Infra. Publicly available material reviewed for this report does not establish an offence by Ponguleti, or show whether the ED filed a prosecution complaint, issued summonses or closed the matter. The ED has not publicly published those details in the material reviewed. Ponguleti has not publicly responded to the BRS demand in that material.

K.T. Rama Rao has alleged a Congress-BJP “unholy nexus” and questioned the minister’s alleged immunity. That remains a political allegation, not an established finding. The BRS has asked for the file; the Congress and BJP have so far left the file doing the talking.
