BRS brings Congress a 420-promise balance sheet

The BRS has announced a week-long campaign to review the Congress government’s promises and performance.
The BRS is taking its case against the Congress government to constituency headquarters, farmers’ meetings, student rallies and Praja Vani centres from September 2 to 8. It will follow that with programmes backing teachers’ and government employees’ unions on September 10. The party has also announced a charge sheet and campaign logo at Telangana Bhavan on September 1. (Telangana Today)
The schedule covers the six guarantees on September 2, agriculture and irrigation on September 3, women and vulnerable groups on September 4, fee reimbursement and jobs on September 5, local issues on September 6, official representations on September 7 and district press conferences on September 8. K. T. Rama Rao has instructed party leaders and workers to join the campaign, according to reports of his August 28 teleconference. (Telangana Today)
The BRS says Congress made 420 promises in addition to six guarantees and 13 declarations. That 420 figure has not been independently audited in the material reviewed.
