BRS brings Congress its 1,000-day report card

The BRS is taking the Congress government’s approaching 1,000-day mark to the state in a week-long campaign. K. T. Rama Rao announced that the party will release a charge sheet and unveil the campaign logo at Telangana Bhavan on September 1; the statewide programme will run from September 2 to 8. The schedule includes constituency protests over the six guarantees, banners listing what the BRS calls “420 promises”, and distribution of Baaki Cards. Farmer conferences, meetings with women and other groups, student and youth programmes, an autorickshaw rally in Hyderabad, Prajavani representations and district press conferences are also planned. The September 1 event is the launch; the campaign itself begins on September 2. Even calendars have had to correct the Congress account.
KTR says Congress promised 420 commitments, 13 declarations and six guarantees, and alleges that not one promise has been fully implemented. The reviewed material does not independently audit that claim. The Telangana government had not publicly responded to the allegations in the material reviewed for this report. The BRS has at least brought a charge sheet; the Congress still has to answer the charge.
