BRS brings out the Baaki Cards

The BRS will begin a statewide campaign against the Congress government in Telangana on September 2, as the government approaches 1,000 days in office. The party plans to release a “chargesheet” at Telangana Bhavan on September 1, because apparently one more document was needed before the protest banners arrived.
BRS working president K. T. Rama Rao said the campaign would include constituency-level dharnas, farmer conferences, rallies on fee reimbursement and the job calendar, and programmes involving women, students, youth and persons with disabilities. The party will also distribute “Baaki Cards” listing benefits it says remain pending. The main campaign is reported to run from September 2 to 8, with separate BRS support for teachers’ and employees’ protests on September 10. (Andhra Jyothy; NDTV)
KTR alleged that Congress had promised 420 assurances, 13 declarations and six guarantees within 100 days, but had not fully implemented even one after 1,000 days. That is a political allegation, not an established finding. Telangana government records say several measures have been implemented, including free bus travel for women, Gruha Jyothi’s free electricity provision, expanded Aarogyasri coverage and a farm-loan waiver claim. The September 1 chargesheet may therefore have to do what campaign material usually avoids: show the promise, the status and the balance sheet.
