BRS flags sand, Congress offers silence
BRS has alleged retaliation against an SC sarpanch in Nagarkurnool over alleged sand extraction. The public record currently contains the charge, not the paperwork.

The BRS has alleged that an SC woman sarpanch in Nagarkurnool is facing retaliation after opposing alleged sand extraction in her area. The evidence publicly available so far is the allegation itself — the paperwork, as ever, appears to be taking the scenic route.
BRS state general secretary R.S. Praveen Kumar raised the issue on September 26, identifying the sarpanch as Kashamma of Jajala village in Vangur mandal. According to reports citing his statements, excavators were allegedly being used in the Dundubi stream around Jajala, Ulpara and Pothareddypally, with sand stockpiled and transported without waybills. BRS also alleged that Kashamma’s bills were withheld and that Achampet Congress MLA Chikkudu Vamshi Krishna harassed her and threatened to “skin alive” an SC sarpanch.
Those claims have not been independently verified. No government order, complaint, inspection report, payment record, seizure record or court filing confirming them was found. Revanth Reddy’s office, the Congress MLA and the Telangana government have not publicly answered the allegations in the material reviewed. The government’s published direction to curb illegal mining does not mention this case. For now, BRS has supplied the charge; the Congress government has supplied silence.
