K T Rama Rao, T Harish Rao and other BRS leaders were stopped by police while travelling towards K Chandrashekhar Rao’s residence at Erravelli, according to multiple reports. Their vehicles were blocked near Hakimpet and Bollaram, after which the leaders continued on foot and argued with police.
Harish Rao and other legislators were taken to Jawahar Nagar police station, while KTR and others were shifted to Bowenpally, the reports said. Police told the leaders that adequate security arrangements had been made for KCR, according to an IANS report. The exact legal status of the detentions, including any FIR sections or arrest memos, has not been established.
KTR alleged that police were facilitating Congress workers travelling towards KCR’s residence while stopping BRS leaders. That claim has not been independently verified. A separate report alleged that an unidentified police officer used abusive language during the confrontation; no independent source reviewed confirmed the remark. The Telangana Police has not publicly explained the legal or operational basis for stopping the BRS leaders. For now, the blockade is documented. The explanation remains under arrest.
