BRS prepares; Congress still auditions
KTR’s voter-enrolment push is documented. Congress has lists, not candidates, and the election schedule is still missing.

The graduate MLC contest in Telangana has begun in the only place it can before notification: party offices. BRS working president K. T. Rama Rao held meetings with leaders from Warangal, Nalgonda and Khammam, with voter enrolment and organisational planning on the agenda, according to a report from Telangana Bhavan. A separate report said a BRS delegation sought clarity from Chief Electoral Officer C. Sudarshan Reddy on the voter-roll timetable.
The reported schedule gives November 1, 2026 as the qualifying date, November 6 as the deadline for Form 18 applications, and November 25 for publication of draft rolls. The CEO’s original notification was not available in the material reviewed. BRS has therefore started preparing for the paperwork before the paperwork has finished explaining itself.
Congress is also working on both seats, but its reported candidate lists do not match. One report listed three names each for the Nalgonda–Warangal–Khammam and Hyderabad–Rangareddy–Mahbubnagar constituencies; another gave a broader, partly different list. Congress state president B. Mahesh Kumar Goud said a panel would go to the high command. No final candidate has been announced, and no official election notification was located. The sitting terms are reported to end in March 2027. Congress has time, apparently, and is using it to shortlist the shortlist.
