A report published on September 2 says police stopped a BRS procession at Hanamkonda’s Adalat Junction and took BRS Hanamkonda district president Dasyam Vinay Bhaskar, former KUDA chairman Marri Yadava Reddy and other party workers to Subedari police station. The report says the procession had begun at the BRS office in Balasamudram and was headed towards the Subedari collectorate as part of a week-long protest over the Congress government’s election promises. It also reports a scuffle between police and BRS cadres.
The report does not state how many people were detained. No FIR number, charges, legal sections, permission conditions, release details or police version have been published in the material reviewed. The report attributes claims of “420 promises” and “repressive rule” to BRS protesters; those claims are political allegations, not independently established findings.
A separate August 27 report about another Hanamkonda protest also mentioned BRS leaders being taken to Subedari police station, but it concerned a Telangana Non-Gazetted Officers’ event and does not corroborate this incident. The Congress government in Telangana and Hanamkonda police have not publicly answered the basic question: arrest under which section, exactly?
