BRS takes Congress to court of public memory
The BRS has launched a statewide campaign over alleged welfare and farmer-support gaps as the Congress government approaches its 1,000-day mark. The government has offered its own list of achievements; the scheme-wise audit is still missing.

The BRS has taken its “Samarabheri” campaign across Telangana, staging rallies, road blockades, public meetings and protests from September 2 to 8 as the Congress government approaches 1,000 days in office. Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy took oath on December 7, 2023, according to the Telangana government’s record.
BRS leaders, including T Harish Rao and Vemula Prashanth Reddy, alleged gaps in Aasara pensions, women’s assistance, farmer support, free power, irrigation and welfare schemes. The party claimed that beneficiaries were owed ₹66,000 in pension arrears and women ₹82,500 under the promised ₹2,500 monthly assistance. Those figures are BRS calculations, not independently established government dues.
The Congress government has countered with figures attributed to the Chief Minister’s Office, including more than 25 lakh farm-loan waivers, ₹36,000 crore under Rythu Bharosa, 72,000 government jobs and 4.5 lakh Indiramma houses sanctioned. Those figures too remain government claims in the material reviewed. Telangana has a reports portal and annual Socio-Economic Outlooks, but no single scheme-wise 1,000-day audit has been produced here. Both sides have supplied scorecards. The receipts are still missing.
