CJP tells Centre Pradhan’s exit is ‘non‑negotiable’; seeks apology for July 20 lathi charge
Student-led CJP met Union ministers in Delhi, demanded Dharmendra Pradhan’s resignation over the NEET leak, Rs 1 crore compensation for suicide cases, withdrawal of FIRs and a public apology. Government said it will respond Saturday.

Leaders of the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP), which has led weeks of student protests over the NEET paper leak, told the Union government their demand for Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan’s resignation is “non-negotiable” and sought a public apology for students “brutally thrashed” during a July 20 protest in Delhi. The two-hour meeting with Union ministers J P Nadda and Jitendra Singh took place on Friday at Vithalbhai Patel House, CJP spokespersons Saurav Das and Ashutosh Ranka said.
CJP also pressed for Rs 1 crore compensation for families of students who died by suicide after exam cancellations and for withdrawal of FIRs against protesters. Nadda said the ministers heard the demands and would “get back” to the CJP, adding another meeting is planned for Saturday. No government decision on the specific demands has been announced yet. Pradhan has not resigned.
Reports of a lathi charge on July 20 have been central to the CJP’s call for an apology; Delhi Police have denied using violence in maintaining order, according to coverage of the protests. Protests are set to continue “peacefully” until the demands are met, the CJP has said.
