BRS groups have reportedly submitted complaints at three police stations in Siddipet district over remarks attributed to Shadnagar Congress MLA K. Shankaraiah, publicly referred to as Veerlapally Shankar, about former chief minister K. Chandrashekar Rao. The Telangana legislature lists Shankaraiah as a Congress MLA from Shadnagar. [1][2]
A report identified the stations as Siddipet Three-Town, Chinna Kodur and Siddipet Rural. It also reported a complaint by the Siddipet Sarpanchs Forum and protests in Chinna Kodur. Separately, BRS general secretary R.S. Praveen Kumar reportedly filed a complaint at Banjara Hills police station, while another complaint was reported at Subedari police station in Hanamkonda. [1][3][4]
The remarks were reported from a circulating video, including the phrase “Chavu Dappu”. The video’s full context has not been independently authenticated in the material reviewed. No FIR number, legal section or police action has been published in the available reports. Shankaraiah and the Telangana Congress have not publicly responded in the material reviewed. [5]
So far, the record shows petitions. The FIRs are still waiting to make an appearance.
