Congress holds a meeting. Somewhere.
Reports say Revanth Reddy’s loyalists met; nobody will say where, who, or with what authority. The Parkal ticket row is on the record. The headcount is not.
Reports of a Congress support meeting have not been accompanied by a venue, attendee list or minutes.
Multiple outlets on Friday claimed a group of Congress legislators aligned with Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy met in Hyderabad to show support amid the Parkal ticket fight. One version puts it at 18 MLAs and two MLCs. None of the reports name a single attendee, give a venue, publish a photo or quote a participant — and the Congress has not put anything on the record.
Munsif Daily first said 20–30 MLAs were expected to gather “following directions from the Chief Minister”, while adding there was no official confirmation of date, venue or list. Later, Asian News 18 twice wrote that 18 MLAs and two MLCs actually met; The South First said a “group of MLAs” met and wanted action against minister Konda Surekha. The papers may be hearing the same whispers; there’s still no document.
What is documented: the Parkal rift. Congress disciplinary chief Mallu Ravi said the party is preparing “strict action” against Konda Sushmitha over her remarks against Revanth Reddy, and TPCC president B. Mahesh Kumar Goud reminded hopefuls they can’t self‑announce candidatures. Surekha has told reporters her daughter’s comments were personal and should not be linked to her or the party. Reports also say Revanth wants sitting MLA Revuri Prakash Reddy renominated from Parkal.
So the ruling Congress can brief the gallery about headcounts in a mystery room, but won’t release a list, a venue or a minute. Telangana can wait — the BJP will enjoy the noise, the TDP will pretend it matters to them — while the Congress manages its “18 MLAs and two MLCs” off the record.
