Congress marched, police blocked BRS leaders

A Congress-linked protest over alleged remarks by BRS MLCs T. Madhusudan Rao, known as Tata Madhu, and N. Naveen Kumar Reddy about Assembly Speaker Gaddam Prasad Kumar reached the area near KCR’s Erravelli farmhouse on September 8. Police imposed prohibitory restrictions and deployed personnel around the site, according to multiple reports.
KTR, Harish Rao and other BRS leaders were stopped near Bollaram and Hakimpet while travelling towards Erravelli. Reports said KTR was taken to Bowenpally police station and Harish Rao to Jawaharnagar police station, although the legal basis of the detentions has not been publicly established in the material reviewed.
KTR alleged that police allowed Congress supporters to move towards KCR’s residence while blocking BRS leaders. He also accused the Revanth Reddy government of conspiring to attack KCR. Those are BRS allegations; the reports reviewed do not establish that the farmhouse was breached or that police escorted anyone intending to attack it. The Congress government has not publicly answered the central question: why were protesters allowed near the residence while BRS leaders were stopped?
