Congress promised ₹6,000, delivered ₹4,016
Harish Rao calculates a ₹66,000 gap over 33 months. The arithmetic is real; the arrears are not yet documented.
The official Aasara disability pension rate remains ₹4,016 a month.
The Congress promised Telangana’s persons with disabilities a monthly pension of ₹6,000. The official Aasara rate is still ₹4,016. Manifesto arithmetic has met government paperwork, and the paperwork is winning.
At a meeting in Hyderabad’s LB Nagar constituency, BRS leader T. Harish Rao said Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy’s government had been in office for 33 months and alleged that each beneficiary was owed ₹66,000. That figure is the estimated difference between ₹6,000 and ₹4,016 over 33 months: ₹65,472, rounded up. It is not an official arrears statement, and it does not show that pensions went unpaid for 33 months.
The Telangana government’s 2023 order raised the disability pension from ₹3,016 to ₹4,016. Its Aasara dashboard listed 514,422 disabled pension beneficiaries on August 23, 2026. Harish Rao used a figure of 5.11 lakh. The government’s response to his claim was not found in the material reviewed. Congress made the promise; Telangana’s official rate still records the discount.
