Congress ‘strict action’: lots of fog, no fire

According to committee chairman Mallu Ravi, the TPCC Disciplinary Committee filed its report on Minister Konda Surekha and Planning Board vice-chairman G. Chinna Reddy to TPCC president B. Mahesh Kumar Goud on Tuesday. He said the panel examined the notices served, their replies, and media statements, and has recommended “strict disciplinary action”. The contents stay secret; the decision, he added, will be taken by the Congress high command.
Several reports say the panel has recommended removing Surekha from the Cabinet and Chinna Reddy from the Planning Board post. Those are reporter-readouts of a sealed document, not a public resolution. On the record, Ravi has only said “strict action” and declined to disclose details, citing confidentiality, while forwarding the file up the chain to AICC leaders.
The immediate trigger included remarks by Surekha’s daughter Konda Sushmitha against Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy. Ravi earlier called those comments inappropriate and said the committee reviewed the clips along with the explanations on record. What the party will actually do about it remains where Congress decisions go to wait.
For Telangana, the headline is simple: the Congress in Telangana files a report; the Congress in Delhi decides when — and whether — it means anything.
