Detain first, puja later
A local report says four BRS men were picked up in Chigurumamidi ahead of Minister Ponnam Prabhakar’s bhoomi puja. No police record has surfaced to back it — and the Congress government isn’t explaining it either.
The reported detentions have not been matched by a public police record.
A report published Friday says police in Chigurumamidi, Karimnagar, detained four people identified as BRS leaders and former MPTCs — Kattula Ramesh, Mittapalli Mallaiah, Daripelli Sampath and Sadanandam — ahead of Transport and BC Welfare Minister Ponnam Prabhakar’s scheduled bhoomi puja at Bommanapalli for a VO building and a veterinary hospital. The four were “taken into custody in advance” and moved to a police station, the report says. It does not name the station, the time, the legal provision used, or when they were released. According to the same report, the four said they intended to place local problems before the minister “democratically” and questioned the detentions.
No police or government statement confirming the action turned up in the checks we ran. The Karimnagar police commissioner’s public feed shows no post on the incident, and the minister’s handle carries no note on the Bommanapalli programme either. The basic paperwork — the section used, a preventive order, even which station — is missing from the public record so far.
So we have one local report naming names and an official silence the Congress government in Telangana has not bothered to break.
