Draft roll due today. Uploads? We’ll see
EC’s revised calendar puts Telangana’s draft electoral roll on August 17 with claims till September 16. The paperwork is certain; the statewide upload isn’t — yet.
The revised schedule sets the date; voters are still waiting for the links.
The Election Commission’s second revision put Telangana’s Special Intensive Revision on a new track: enumeration forms till August 10, draft roll on August 17, claims and objections from August 17 to September 16, final roll on October 19. That timetable was communicated by Chief Electoral Officer C. Sudharshan Reddy on July 31. According to those reports, 77.12% of enumeration forms — 2,60,88,334 — had been digitised by 6 pm that day.
This is the schedule, not proof the draft went live statewide this morning. The ECI’s May 14 order requires booth-wise lists of electors left out of the draft to be displayed locally and uploaded in an accessible format on CEO and district websites; it does not confirm Telangana’s upload happened on the day. Voters will want the links, not just the dates. Those have not been published alongside the July 31 numbers in the material we could directly access.
The first mid-course correction on July 15 had shifted the draft to August 10 with claims till September 9 and noted Hyderabad and Medchal–Malkajgiri trailing on returns. The July 31 update pushed everything back a week. The BJP-led Centre’s national calendar games do not excuse slippage on basic transparency: if the draft is up, post the statewide index and the exclusion lists the Commission itself mandates. The deadline is today; the delivery should be too.
