Draft rolls Monday. Bring your Form 6

Telangana’s SIR draft electoral rolls land August 17. If your name is missing, it isn’t game over — file, don’t fume.

A Telangana voter stands at a claims-and-objections counter holding a Form 6, while a huge draft electoral-roll file sits on a desk and a wall calendar shows August 17 and September 16.

The draft rolls are due on August 17; claims and objections will be accepted until September 16.

Telangana’s Special Intensive Revision hits a checkpoint on Monday: the draft electoral rolls are scheduled to be published on August 17, after the Election Commission extended house-to-house enumeration to August 10, according to a report quoting Chief Electoral Officer C. Sudharshan Reddy. The claims-and-objections window then runs August 17 to September 16, with final rolls due October 19.

One ground rule from the CEO’s public briefings: only voters who actually submitted SIR-2026 enumeration forms are expected to appear in the draft. That means a missing name at draft stage is a prompt to apply, not a conspiracy theory. The ECI’s own process says new inclusions go through Form 6 — online at voters.eci.gov.in, or via the ERO/AERO or a BLO — and corrections follow the prescribed forms.

Two popular WhatsApps — that “over 61 lakh” voters will get notices and “20 lakh in Hyderabad” alone — are not backed by the Election Commission’s documents we could find. Treat them as claims until the CEO publishes the counts and definitions. The part that is on the record is the remedy: file during claims-and-objections and track it.

If Delhi’s national parties want to posture about “missing voters”, they can start by telling people how to restore names instead of rehearsing outrage. The BJP-led Centre and the Congress would rather farm headlines than forms; Telangana voters need the forms.
