Ethics panel needs one more meeting, naturally

The Telangana Assembly Ethics Committee has postponed further consideration of BRS MLA Padi Kaushik Reddy’s case to September 30, after meeting on September 23. The committee has not yet decided whether to grant his request for more time or conclude the matter. (New Indian Express; The Hans India)
Kaushik Reddy, who represents Huzurabad, had sought six weeks to respond and asked for the complete Assembly footage from March 29, when the alleged conduct involving Station Ghanpur MLA Kadiyam Srihari was reported. BRS members again sought additional footage. The committee, chaired by Revuri Prakash Reddy, was reported to have said that sufficient footage had already been supplied. BRS legislator Vemula Prashanth Reddy said, “How can we respond without knowing the context of who said what and why?” The BJP also sought a deferment, though the available reports do not identify the member or explain the grounds. For now, the committee has a case, a deadline and footage the public cannot inspect. September 30 gets another turn.
