Harish Rao was taken to Subedari police station in Hanamkonda on Tuesday after he expressed support for protesting government employees near the district Collectorate. It also says police moved after hearing he planned to back polytechnic students near Warangal’s MGM area, and that BRS workers later sat in protest outside the station. The headline calls it an arrest; the copy itself says police “attempted to arrest” him and then took him to the station — a difference the Congress government has not bothered to clarify.
What is on the record so far: one published report describing the sequence and location. What is missing: an FIR number, the section used, an arrest memo, a named officer’s account, a release note, or even a basic confirmation from Hanamkonda police or the district administration. Telangana’s polytechnic system exists (of course it does), but that does not confirm Tuesday’s crowd control — or the lack of due process.
Context: Harish Rao has publicly backed polytechnic students in recent days, saying he knows their struggles from experience. If the Congress government thought bundling him to a station would quiet that, the paperwork they haven’t produced is doing the talking instead.
