Karimnagar market panel, Congress quarrel
A market committee in Karimnagar got new office-bearers. What it also got, per one report, is a public quarrel inside the Congress the party has not bothered to explain.
The Karimnagar market committee appointments remain without a published order or on-record explanation.
According to a May 25 report, the Karimnagar Agriculture Market Committee was newly constituted with Akula Narsaiah as chairman, Sudagoni Lakshminarayana Goud as vice-chairman and 10 directors. The same report says Lakshminarayana Goud rejected the vice-chair post, resigned from the Block Congress Committee and went to Gandhi Bhavan to raise his grievance with TPCC chief B. Mahesh Kumar Goud. It also names Macherla Anjaiah Goud from Thimmapur mandal as having protested.
That is where the record ends for now. The official Karimnagar district page explains that agricultural market committees function under the Telangana (Agricultural Produce and Livestock) Markets Act, 1966 and regulate trade, storage and marketing — it does not list this committee’s new names or the appointment order. No appointment notification, full director list, or on-record response from the Congress leaders named has been published in the material consulted.
The same report attributes the rest — who backed whom and which minister is at odds with which in-charge — to unnamed “party leaders”. Until the Congress produces the order and says on the record why a vice-chairman quit the day he was named, the BJP and TDP can save their sermons about “good governance”. The market needs clarity; the Congress-run show needs to say who they picked, on what basis, and why their own man walked.
