BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao was taken into preventive custody on Tuesday while travelling towards KCR’s Erravelli farmhouse at Hakimpet, reports said. Police shifted him to Bowenpally police station. Former minister T. Harish Rao and other BRS legislators were also detained after attempting to travel from the Assembly towards the farmhouse. BRS supporters and Congress workers later confronted each other outside the station, with reports describing arguments, slogan-shouting, pushing and the throwing of stones and chairs. Police brought the situation under control. The sequence of events, responsibility for the alleged stone-pelting and any injuries remain unverified in the material reviewed. BRS MLA T. Padmarao Goud was reported to have reached the station.
KTR alleged that Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy was conspiring to kill KCR. That is an allegation, not an established fact. The Congress government has not publicly answered it in the material reviewed. Police have also not publicly stated the legal basis for the detentions, whether an FIR was registered or whether anyone was injured. The government has produced a station episode, but not yet the paperwork explaining it.
