KTR gives Congress 10 days, then walks

The Congress government in Telangana has 10 days to publish a Nagarjuna Sagar Left Canal water-release schedule, or K. T. Rama Rao will take the farmers to the road.
Speaking at a BRS farmers’ protest in Miryalaguda on September 3, KTR said the government must specify when water would be released, how much would be released and how many irrigation turns farmers could expect. If there was no clarity by September 14, he said, he would lead a padayatra from Kodad to Haliya with thousands of farmers. The deadline is for a schedule; the reports do not establish that it is a deadline for actual release.
BRS had permission for a dharna at the Nagarjuna Sagar Project camp ground, while police denied permission for a town rally citing traffic and law-and-order concerns. The proposed march echoes K. Chandrashekhar Rao’s 2003 Kodad–Haliya mobilisation over Nagarjuna Sagar water.
KTR also alleged that Telangana was being denied water while Andhra Pradesh received releases, and questioned Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy’s relationship with Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu. Those water-availability and intent claims remain allegations: no same-day reservoir bulletin, Left Canal release order or government response was found in the material reviewed. The Congress government has not bothered to answer them publicly in that material. For now, it has supplied a deadline and left the water schedule pending.
