KTR leads BRSV dharna at Dharna Chowk

BRS working president backs student anger over alleged NEET irregularities and Delhi police action; Congress and Centre both drawn into the fight.

A crowded Hyderabad Dharna Chowk stands beneath a giant examination paper, while three government desks labelled Centre, Congress and BRS point at one another and students hold blank answer sheets.

At Dharna Chowk, the NEET dispute became a contest over who gets to count the students.

BRS working president K. T. Rama Rao on Friday led a protest organised by the party’s student wing, BRSV, at Dharna Chowk near Indira Park, Hyderabad, in solidarity with students over alleged NEET irregularities and against police action on protesters in Delhi. According to multiple reports, KTR addressed the gathering and the BRSV-led mobilisation demanded action from the Union government, including accountability from the education ministry and withdrawal of cases against students.

The protest framed the NEET row and Class 12 evaluation complaints as reasons for Union-level accountability. The National Testing Agency has contested “after-the-event ‘paper leak’ evidence” while conducting a re-exam for NEET UG 2026, and CBSE separately issued guidance for students to seek verification and re-evaluation of specific answer-book issues — an acknowledgement of defined problem categories, not their scale.

The issue also turned into a state-level contest. Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy had earlier pressed for Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan’s removal — even saying the prime minister should go if he would not act — while KTR used Friday’s dharna to position BRS alongside student concerns and to question Congress’s posture.

Telangana.Social's take: Delhi owns NEET, but Hyderabad can count a crowd. BRS used that fact; Congress says it’s with the youth too. The Centre’s line that leaks are “after-the-event” inventions will need more than a PDF to survive a street already reading receipts.
