Paigah registrations arrive before the government order
Telangana is reportedly preparing conditional registrations for some disputed Paigah lands, but the document making it real is still missing.
Reported conditional registrations await the Government Order that would put them on paper.

Hyderabad’s disputed Paigah lands may soon become registrable—conditionally, because apparently even paperwork now needs a court disclaimer. Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy was reported to have said lands linked to Civil Suit Nos. 7 and 14 of 1958 would be removed from the Section 22-A prohibited list. The reported mechanism would operate case by case, according to Principal Secretary, Revenue, D.S. Lokesh Kumar. (Siasat)
The catch is rather important: no Government Order, departmental circular, Registration and Stamps instruction or revised Section 22-A schedule has been publicly located. The Supreme Court’s June 15, 2023 judgment said the appellants had failed to establish that Hydernagar land, including Survey No. 172, was Matruka property of Khursheed Jah Paigah. It also recorded that pattas had been granted to cultivating ryots before 1948. (Supreme Court judgment)
The Telangana High Court’s April 11, 2025 listing shows litigation connected to both suits was still active, including a matter on remand from the Supreme Court. (Telangana High Court) The Chief Minister’s own August 2026 statement said lands under court cases would be kept aside. (Telangana government)
So the reported policy may help untangle a long-running Hyderabad property mess. But until the Congress government publishes the rules, buyers have an announcement—and not yet a title solution.
