Revanth Reddy backed the sitting MLA in Parkal. A minister’s daughter wants the ticket anyway — and says she’ll run even without it. The Congress is now issuing notices to its own instead of answering who decides in Telangana: the Chief Minister, the TPCC, or an Instagram story.

Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy publicly backed sitting Parakala MLA Revoori Prakash Reddy for the next Assembly run on 16 August, according to reports. Within days, Konda Sushmitha Patel — daughter of minister Konda Surekha and former MLC Konda Murali — surfaced as a rival aspirant, with an Instagram story reading “UPcoming Parkal MLA Konda Sushmita Patel,” as reproduced by ABP. She has been quoted saying she will contest from Parakala even if the Congress denies her a ticket.
The Congress response so far is not clarity but discipline theatre. A report says the TPCC sought an explanation over Sushmitha’s remarks; another says the party’s disciplinary committee served a notice to her mother, Minister Konda Surekha, giving three days to respond. The Week also reports a show-cause to Surekha and cites her position that she cannot be held responsible for her adult daughter’s statements. The party has not published the notice or said who finally gets the ticket.

For Parkal voters, the only settled fact is this: the Congress is fighting the Congress while the ticket remains a promise on paper.
