Congress’s Telangana unit reportedly hauls up its own minister over her daughter’s Parkal challenge — while the Chief Minister it serves hasn’t answered the charge she laid at his door.

The TPCC disciplinary committee is reported to have served a three‑day show‑cause notice on Minister Konda Surekha after her daughter Konda Sushmitha said she would contest from Parkal “whether or not the party gives me the ticket,” and dared Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy to make sitting MLA Revuri Prakash Reddy resign and face a by‑poll. The committee has not published the notice; reports name Mallu Ravi as the chair and say it cites party discipline and reputational damage. According to those reports, the deadline is three days. The document itself has not been independently obtained.
Sushmitha’s lines were not coy. “Who is Revanth to decide our ticket?” one report recorded, adding she would run even as an independent if denied the Congress ticket. Another carried her Telugu challenge: “దమ్ముంటే… ఇప్పుడే రాజీనామా చేయించి, ఇద్దరూ కలిసి ఉప ఎన్నికలకు రండి.” That is an open gauntlet to the Congress Chief Minister’s preferred MLA in Parkal, not a family squabble.
On cue, the Congress machine reportedly reached for the rulebook — at the minister, not the CM she challenged. The same reports say the committee treated a minister’s family member’s public remarks as misconduct and sought Surekha’s explanation. A separate follow‑up headline elsewhere claims she said she wasn’t responsible for her daughter’s comments; we could not independently confirm a reply, and another report still said her explanation was awaited at the time. The party has not released the notice text, date or letter number.
Sushmitha also alleged, in her speech, a Rs 200‑crore land deal tied to the Chief Minister’s family. That is her allegation; no land records, filings or official response were found in the material reviewed, and it is reported here as her claim, not as fact. What is on the record is that the Congress’s disciplinary reflex points downward while the question aimed upward — at the Congress Chief Minister — sits unanswered.
Parkal is in Telangana; the ticket is Congress property, but the mandate is not. The BJP and TDP can watch this Congress house‑fire and take notes; voters in Warangal already have. The Congress unit in Telangana can either answer the challenge in Parkal or keep punishing the person who didn’t make it.
