Pharma City abolished, Future City rebadged?
KTR says Congress is offering the same land at Rs 4 crore an acre. The records prove less — and the government has not bothered to answer the central question.
The government has continued Future City planning in the Mirkhanpet area without publicly addressing the question of Pharma City land.
The Congress manifesto promised to review Hyderabad Pharma City in Rangareddy district and initiate steps to abolish it. K. T. Rama Rao now says the promise has been replaced by a Future City label, with the same land being offered at Rs 4 crore an acre.
The figure and the claim that the parcels are the same remain KTR’s allegations, not established land-record facts. No acquisition map, allotment list or official price notification reviewed here confirms the overlap or the Rs 4 crore rate. The government’s own September 2025 release confirms continuing Future City planning in the Mirkhanpet area and promises compensation and jobs for affected people. It does not address returning Pharma City land.
That leaves Congress with a manifesto saying “abolish”, a government project carrying on in the same broad belt, and no public answer to the land question. The paperwork, as usual, is still waiting for the political slogan to catch up.
