Railways meet, answers missing
Telangana MPs say they took a long list to South Central Railway. The BJP-led Centre and SCR still haven’t bothered to say where the projects stand.
Telangana MPs submitted a list of pending railway works at a meeting with South Central Railway officials in Hyderabad.
Telangana MPs reportedly met South Central Railway (SCR) officials in Hyderabad on 20 August to push pending works — an ANI copy says Congress MP Gaddam Vamsi Krishna claimed “almost Rs 1,000 crore” in sanctions in Peddapalle hasn’t moved, and BRS MP Vaddiraju Ravichandra flagged the absence of a Bhadrachalam station. SCR has not published minutes, a response, or even a named official from the meeting.
What is on the record: Gaddam has been pressing rail issues in Parliament. On 2 April 2025, he asked the Railways about pending proposals, funding and train stoppages in Telangana; the ministry replied that projects are evaluated zone‑wise and it does not keep a central compendium of every MP request. Useful for ducking accountability, less useful for telling Telangana which sanctioned work is actually moving.
The ANI-attributed quotes remain just that — attributed. No SCR release, no Railway Board note, no Union ministry update. The BJP‑led Centre is happy to count “sanctions”; it is less keen to list tenders, funds released and completion dates in Telangana, zone-wise or otherwise. The Congress can claim it’s raising its voice; the BRS says it put demands on the table. SCR and the BJP‑led Railways should try raising a document.
