Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has demanded that BRS president K. Chandrashekar Rao resign as Leader of the Opposition, and asked Congress workers to hold protests from September 1 to 6. The Assembly session is scheduled to begin on September 7, according to reports.
Reddy alleged that KCR had stayed away from public life and Assembly proceedings for 1,000 days, while drawing ₹1.24 crore in salary. He also claimed the government spent ₹21 crore on KCR’s security, bullet-proof vehicles and other facilities. Reddy put the combined figure at ₹22,24,40,000 and said KCR had “eaten away” government money.
Those figures remain political assertions, not independently verified findings. The official Telangana portal lists Reddy as chief minister and KCR as the BRS MLA from Gajwel; the BRS lists him as Leader of the Opposition. No BRS response was identified in the material reviewed.
