‘Sack Pradhan, talk to students’: KTR backs Gen Z protests at Hyderabad rally

BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao on Wednesday called on the Union government to “immediately sack” Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan and open talks with student protesters over the NEET-UG row, addressing a BRSV-organised gathering at Dharna Chowk near Indira Park in Hyderabad.
“Narendra Modi messed with the wrong people. Gen Z is changing everything… Why are you attracting the anger of the youth across the country just to protect one minister?” KTR said, urging the withdrawal of cases filed against protesters and action against those who “perpetrated violence” on students in Delhi. He said students were demanding “justice, accountability… and reforms,” and asked the Centre to speak with them and resolve the issue. (Siasat report of the speech.)
Calls for Pradhan’s resignation have escalated after protests over alleged exam irregularities, with student and youth groups including AAP’s youth wing, AISA and JNUSU holding demonstrations in Delhi and on campuses; several groups have publicly sought the minister’s removal. Separate reports have noted police–protester clashes in Delhi in recent days, with injuries to both sides reported. The Union government has not announced a change at the ministry.
