SIR dates wobble; voters don’t
Enumeration runs to August 3, draft rolls on August 10 per multiple reports. One stray claim pushes enumeration to August 10 — without the order to back it. Telangana’s job is steady; Delhi’s calendar needs a signature, not spin.
The SIR timetable remains unsettled as enumeration and digitisation continue in Telangana.
The Election Commission’s SIR calendar for Telangana now reads like two versions of the same memo. Multiple reports put house-to-house enumeration and digitisation through August 3, with the draft roll due on August 10 and final rolls on October 12, citing the revised schedule attributed to the state CEO and the ECI. A separate report says enumeration itself was pushed to August 10, then moves the rest of the dates — but does not produce the order that would make that true.
On progress, earlier CEO status updates reported 71.34% statewide digitisation as of July 23. A later report pegs it at 77.12% overall and 56.31% in Hyderabad as of July 31 — figures that track the direction of travel but still need the underlying district sheet to be treated as verified.
The process itself is not in dispute: BLOs go door to door with forms, citizens can file with the BLO or online, and claims/objections follow draft publication. What is missing is the signed paper that settles whether August 10 is for finishing enumeration or for publishing the draft. Until the BJP-led Centre’s commission puts the exact schedule in black and white, Telangana’s administrators are doing the one part that isn’t ambiguous: getting the forms in and keyed.
