The Paradise outruns its own box-office estimates

Nani’s The Paradise opened in Telugu and dubbed languages on September 24, with its Telugu version doing most of the running. A Sacnilk update at 10.15 p.m. put the film’s India-net estimate at ₹34.65 crore, including ₹31.30 crore from Telugu. That is roughly 90% of the reported total — so much for the industry’s habit of treating every multilingual release as a national-market referendum.

The day began with a much lower Moneycontrol report: ₹12.55 crore India net at 2.41 p.m., including ₹11.72 crore from Telugu. Hindustan Times later cited an estimate of about ₹35 crore by 9 p.m. The figures are live trade estimates and have not been confirmed by the producers, distributors or an industry body. Sacnilk’s own figures remain subject to revision.

That Telugu-first result fits Nani’s stated positioning. “Telugu is definitely our prime target,” he said before release, while declining to call the film pan-Indian. Directed by Srikanth Odela and led by Nani, The Paradise has therefore done the useful thing: release in several languages, while letting the home audience supply most of the arithmetic. The final day-one figure is still pending; the estimates have already had one.
