Two years, 16 searches, still no ED answer

The BRS has asked the Enforcement Directorate to disclose what followed its September 2024 searches linked to Telangana minister Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy and others. The public record reviewed here does not show the outcome.

A cartoon outside an ED office in Hyderabad shows a huge file marked “16 SEARCHES” beside a locked cabinet labelled “PUBLIC RECORD”, with blank pages, flying calendar sheets from 2024 to 2026 and a closed service window.

Two years after the searches, the public record reviewed for the report still does not show their outcome.

The BRS took its questions to the Enforcement Directorate’s Basheerbagh office in Hyderabad on September 28, 2026: what happened after the agency searched about 16 locations linked to Telangana Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy, his son P. Harsha Reddy, Raghava Constructions and others on September 27–28, 2024? The delegation was initially stopped by police, then submitted a representation to an ED official identified as Deputy Director Swathi. The memorandum sought details of any seizures, summonses, prosecution complaint, property attachment or closure, and reportedly asked for a written reply within 15 days.

The BRS says the ED has not publicly disclosed the searches’ outcome. That is a political claim, not proof that nothing happened inside the agency. The public material reviewed for this report does not show an ED press release, case-status update, prosecution complaint or closure report. It also does not establish wrongdoing by Ponguleti or his associates. K.T. Rama Rao called the episode an alleged “Congress-BJP unholy nexus”; Congress leader B. Mahesh Kumar Goud alleged a BRS-BJP understanding. Both are political claims. Two years after the searches, the BJP-led enforcement machinery has still not made the basic procedural record easy to find. The file, apparently, prefers hide-and-seek.
