Two years, one ED silence on Ponguleti searches

BRS legislators and workers went to the Enforcement Directorate’s Hyderabad office and sought a written account of searches conducted in September 2024 at premises linked to Telangana Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy, his family and Raghava Constructions. Reports said the delegation was led by MLAs K. P. Vivekananda and K. Sanjay, with MLCs Shambipur Raju and Naveen Kumar Reddy also present. Police initially stopped the group from entering; the delegation was later allowed inside and submitted a representation.
The BRS asked the ED to reply within 15 days on whether the investigation remains pending, led to a prosecution complaint or was closed. It also sought details of anything found, seized or attached. Contemporary reporting described searches at about 16 locations in Hyderabad and Khammam, but no primary ED document confirming the case basis, seizures or subsequent filing was found. The agency has not publicly answered the demand in the material reviewed. [1][2]
Congress leaders called the protest a diversion and alleged a BRS–BJP understanding. That remains a political claim, not an established fact. Ponguleti has denied allegations raised against him, while no specific response to this latest demand was reported. The ED’s file, if it has moved, is keeping better attendance than its public explanation.
