US leg denied. Answers denied longer.

BRS general secretary RS Praveen Kumar asked Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy to come clean on his aborted US visit — itinerary, meetings, purpose and who paid. He said at a press meet on Tuesday that the CM hadn’t disclosed the full programme and threw a list of pointed allegations on timing, motives and spend. Those are his charges; the documents are still not public. (Telangana Today report of his remarks.)
What is on record: a court‑cleared foreign tour from August 17 to September 10 covering the UK, US, Germany and China, pitched as investment and education outreach. The UK leg happened. The state’s own releases show Reddy at Oxford discussing partnerships and inviting the university to Hyderabad, and a diaspora event in London on August 23 under the ‘Telangana Rising’ banner.
What did not happen: the US leg. Multiple reports say the BJP‑led Centre, via the MEA, denied political clearance, after which Reddy flew back from London the same day. One report summarising the MEA line says the ‘proposed programme was not appropriate’. The MEA has not put a detailed reason on the record where anyone can read it; that opacity is doing the political work for them.
Reddy, for his part, has called the denial discriminatory and politically motivated and says complete details were submitted. That is a claim that can be settled by producing the file — the itinerary sent to MEA, the proposed meetings, who organised them, and the sanction for public expenditure. If the BJP‑led Centre thought the programme crossed a line, it can publish the same papers and the rejection note. Evasion on both ends helps only Delhi’s gatekeepers.
Two facts and one gap are clear enough for Telangana: the UK work is documented by the state, the US door was shut by the BJP‑led Centre, and the paper trail that would end the he‑said‑she‑said is still missing in public. The Congress CM says he’ll explain; the explanation is a PDF, not a speech. The BJP‑led Centre can spare the sermon too — just show the rejection letter.
