‘418’ holds the door
Mythri’s horror bet skips its July 31 date; the poster says “later.” The wait, apparently, will be worth it.
The release date for ‘418’ remains to be announced.
‘418’, the Telugu horror/thriller written and directed by Kirtan Nadagouda and presented by Prashanth Neel, did not release on July 31. Mythri Movie Makers announced on July 28 that the film’s theatrical opening was postponed, with a new date “soon.” According to the IANS report of the banner’s poster, “The dreaded door will open a little later… 418 The Film will not be releasing on July 31st.”
The film is produced by Mythri Movie Makers, with Naveen Yerneni and Yalamanchili Ravi Shankar listed as producers and Nadagouda making his feature directorial debut, as described in industry coverage. Reports had earlier carried Mythri’s release-date poster and the line: “Behind this door lies the beginning of all your fears,” alongside credits naming Neel as presenter, not director.
BookMyShow’s listing names Preethi Pagadala, Charan Lakkaraju and Surya Raj among the cast, with Chaithra Achar, Shashank Patil and Shree Vaishnav also listed. The same listing places the story in a medical college in a fear-stricken village and says it probes “the science behind superstitions, the superstitions in science, and an anomaly that neither can explain.” That is a listing description, not an official synopsis.
The makers have not announced a new release date yet. Telangana audiences can wait; we do this better than governments in Delhi keep a promise.
