A joint survey, because permissions need checking

Peddapalli Collector Koya Sriharsha has reportedly ordered a joint survey by the revenue, mining and forest departments into permissions, excavation and other allegations linked to Greenfield Highway work near Adivarampet. Officials reported to have visited the site include Ramagiri tahsildar Suman, district in-charge mining officer Jaisingh and forest range officer Vinay. The district website identifies Sriharsha as Peddapalli’s Collector and District Magistrate.

The allegations, carried in published reports, include excavation in forest, revenue and government land, tree felling, work outside permitted locations and removal of more than 100,000 metric tonnes of soil from reserve forest. None of those claims has been established by an official finding in the material available. The reported follow-up says the Collector ordered a comprehensive survey and a report; its deadline, order number and terms have not been published.

Megha Engineering and Infrastructure Limited has not been found to have publicly responded to the Adivarampet allegations. The company’s website lists its highway business, but not this dispute. The Mines and Geology Department’s stated job is controlling unauthorised quarrying and mineral transport. The survey will now establish whether the paperwork matches the earthworks. Until then, the allegations remain allegations and the paperwork remains remarkably shy.
