Andhra police filed as FBI. X noticed.
X said a request from an Andhra Pradesh government email listed “FBI” as the organisation. The police have yet to explain why.
An Andhra Pradesh police request listed “FBI” as the organisation, according to X.
The TDP-led Andhra Pradesh government has a small identity problem: X said a request from the Guntur Urban Police email address listed “FBI” as the organisation. The sender was identified as Inspector A.V. Brahmam, while X clarified that the request did not come from the US Federal Bureau of Investigation.
The request concerned three posts by YSR Congress member Nagarjuna Yadav about alleged irregularities in the District Selection Committee recruitment process. X’s first notification to Yadav reportedly said the FBI had complained about the posts. On September 13, X corrected that: the sender had entered “FBI” in the organisation field, and it was unclear why the Andhra Pradesh Police had done so.
YS Jagan Mohan Reddy alleged deliberate political misuse and questioned who authorised the operation. That motive is not established by the available material. What is established is that “FBI” appeared on a request sent from an Andhra government email. Guntur SP Vakul Jindal and Inspector Brahmam did not provide an explanation in the reports reviewed. The TDP government has yet to account for the paperwork; even the FBI was apparently not consulted.
