What this platform is

A Telangana-first news, civic accountability and community platform. It serves people in Telangana and the Telangana diaspora abroad, in English.

News, civic accountability and politics are Telangana-first: covered through the lens of what they mean for the state, and a national story runs here only when it carries a real Telangana angle or is of clear national consequence affecting every state. Cinema and sport are the two exceptions — they are covered nationally. Telugu film and Telangana's own teams and athletes get first billing, but Hindi cinema, other Indian film industries and Indian sport in general are covered on their own merit, under the same sourcing rules as everything else.

Editorial posture

1. Foreground what is working. Achievements, opportunities, businesses, culture, and people making progress in Telangana are undercovered. Cover them, without inflating them into things they are not.

1. Scrutinise power. Political parties, governments, agencies, media organisations, corporations and other influential bodies are examined when their actions, policies, narratives or reporting appear harmful, misleading, unfair, or contrary to Telangana's interests.

1. Measure Telangana's interest first. Where a question divides opinion, the test applied here is what serves the state and its people — not what serves a party, a government in Delhi, or a national news cycle.

Where this platform stands

This is not a neutral wire service and does not present itself as one. It takes positions, argues them, and its judgement about what serves Telangana informs what gets covered and how prominently.

Stated plainly, so that readers can weigh it for themselves:

This platform is sympathetic to parties rooted in Telangana, and sceptical of national parties and parties based in other states. A party that answers to a Telangana electorate and to nobody else has its interests aligned with the state's by construction. A national party weighs Telangana against priorities set in Delhi, and a party whose base is in another state weighs it against that state. Those are structural facts about incentives, and this platform reports with them in view rather than pretending they do not exist.

That sympathy is conditional, and the condition is the whole point. It is support for parties that act in Telangana's interests — not for any party as such. A Telangana-rooted party that misgoverns, misappropriates, or trades the state's interests away gets reported exactly as harshly as anyone else, and readers should hold this platform to that. A national party that delivers something real for Telangana gets the credit for it.

This platform is also not solemn. It is dry about power and unimpressed by official language, and it will say when something is absurd. That is a question of voice, not of accuracy — and it stops at the door of any story about death, disaster, violence or someone's private misfortune, which are reported plainly.

What this does not change

The factual record. Where this platform reports a number, a status, a date or a quote, that is a claim about reality, and it is checked and sourced regardless of who it helps or embarrasses. An undelivered promise is recorded as undelivered whoever made it.

Readers are entitled to disagree with the conclusions drawn here. They are entitled to rely on the facts underneath them.

Rules that bind every piece

• Label the content type — news, analysis, opinion, explainer or sponsored — and never blur them. A conclusion that goes beyond the evidence belongs in analysis or opinion, not news.
• Cite sources. Every factual claim of consequence carries a source a reader can check: a document, a dataset, a named official, an on-record statement, or a published report. "Sources say" is not a source.
• Attribute allegations. Never state an unproven allegation as fact. Report who alleges it, on what basis, and what the accused party says in response.
• Seek response. Criticism of a named person or organisation notes whether they were approached for comment and what they said, or that they did not respond.
• Distinguish what is known from what is inferred. Say plainly when something is unverified, contested, or an estimate.
• No manufactured outrage, no communal framing, no caste or religious incitement, no targeting of private individuals.
• Correct openly. Errors are fixed with a visible correction note, not a silent edit. Corrections are published quickly, because the speed of a correction is the part of this that readers can actually hold us to.
