Annapurna announces slate, leaves the numbers backstage
The Hyderabad studio says it wants to revive commission-based distribution across Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. Theatres, terms and screen counts remain undisclosed.
Annapurna’s distribution slate is announced without theatre, screen or settlement details.
Annapurna Studios says it is widening its film-distribution activity across Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, with a September slate featuring Dulquer Salmaan’s I’m Game, Karthi’s Sardar 2, EPIC – First Semester and Ramba Oorvasi Menaka.
The studio says it wants to revive commission-based distribution and build “stronger theatrical opportunities” for story-led films. Supriya Yarlagadda, identified as Annapurna’s executive director, said the initiative would bring films to audiences while creating a “transparent and sustainable distribution ecosystem”.
The announcement also lists Malayalam films Eko and Balan: The Boy, Suriya’s Karuppu—released in Telugu as Veerabhadrudu—and Akkineni Akhil’s Lenin among Annapurna’s recent distribution portfolio.
The useful details are still missing: no commission rate, theatre list, screen count, show count, settlement mechanism or loss-sharing terms have been published. So this is a strategy announcement, not yet proof that theatrical access has changed. The slogan has arrived; the spreadsheet is apparently taking the scenic route.
