Annapurna names four films, leaves paperwork off-screen
The Hyderabad studio says it is expanding Telugu-state distribution and reviving a commission-based model. The contracts, naturally, remain a private screening.
Annapurna Studios has announced a Telugu-state distribution slate without disclosing its commercial terms.
Annapurna Studios says it is expanding its theatrical distribution slate across Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, naming I’m Game, Sardar 2, EPIC – First Semester and Ramba Oorvasi Menaka among its September titles.
Supriya Yarlagadda, the studio’s executive director, said the initiative aims to revive a commission-based distribution model and create stronger theatrical opportunities for content-driven films. Annapurna’s announcement says it is involved in both production and distribution of Ramba Oorvasi Menaka; the other titles are presented as distribution activity. I’m Game was reported as released in Telugu on September 3, with Sardar 2 scheduled for September 10 and EPIC – First Semester set for Telugu-state distribution.
The announcement does not disclose territory agreements, commission rates, minimum guarantees, investments, screen allocations or box-office results. So this is an announced business plan, not yet a balance-sheet triumph. Even the exact meaning of “distribution” title by title remains off-screen.
