BK Unit lands in Telugu, Sept 4
Nivin Pauly’s Bethlehem Kudumba Unit reaches AP–Telangana screens in Telugu on September 4; makers say “worldwide” release. Tamil version arrives the same day.
Bethlehem Kudumba Unit is scheduled to release in Telugu and Tamil theatres on September 4.
Bethlehem Kudumba Unit will release in Telugu and Tamil theatres on September 4, the makers announced on August 24. The Malayalam original opened on August 21. According to multiple reports citing the makers’ posts, the dubbed versions are theatrical releases on that Friday.
Nivin Pauly addressed “Namaste Andhra Pradesh & Telangana” in his Telugu announcement and said the Telugu version will release “worldwide” on September 4. That signals a diaspora run alongside domestic shows, but neither a country list nor screen counts have been published by the makers yet.
Who is handling Telugu distribution is less tidy. One set of reports says Future Runup Films is distributing in Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. Another says Mythri Movie Makers is involved on the Telugu side, possibly alongside Future Runup. The makers have not put out a clear territorial split.
Cast and crew are locked: Nivin Pauly and Mamitha Baiju lead; Girish AD directs, co-writing with Kiran Josey; produced by Dileesh Pothan, Fahadh Faasil and Syam Pushkaran under Bhavana Studios.
Coverage of the Malayalam run has used “packed houses” in Kerala and overseas; that phrasing is attributed reporting, not an audited attendance figure. If the Telugu version plays to full halls in the Gulf and the US, great — publish the numbers. Until then, the promise is doing the talking.
