Bonalu invites go animated — reportedly
A report says some Hyderabad Bonalu organisers are trying animated social‑media videos, including Motu and Patlu clips, to share event details. Printed posters remain part of the official festival rollout.
Bonalu organisers are reportedly adding animated social-media invitations to the festival publicity mix.
Some Bonalu organisers in Hyderabad are reportedly experimenting with animated invitation videos on Facebook, WhatsApp and Instagram this season, using clips that carry procession timings, temple events and cultural programme details — and in some cases feature the cartoon duo Motu and Patlu, according to a July 25 report by Telangana Today. The report does not name the organisers, link to any posts, or provide view counts.
It adds that some videos include local temple or colony names and schedules, and describes common features such as colourful animation, folk background music, voice-overs and local slang. Cost, speed and environmental advantages are characterised as organisers’ claims in the report, with no figures or comparisons supplied.
Bonalu itself is confirmed by the Hyderabad district website, which lists major events across the city. Separately, the Endowments Minister unveiled an official poster and brochure for Bonalu on July 10, indicating printed publicity remains in use.
